PEOPLE´S CHOICE AWARD

August 28,  2009, at the INDEX: Award Ceremony; Jean Madden from Brisbane, Australia, was declared the winner of the People’s Choice Award. The winning design, Street Swags, is a bed and a bag designed to provide more comfort, warmth and protection from weather for people living on the street. Read more about Street Swags.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award 2009 was selected in an online voting at designtoimprovelife.dk and Facebook and on-site voting at the Exhibition on Kongens Nytorv.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award 2009 received "The Egg," a chair designed by famous Danish designer Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the Radisson SAS hotel in Copenhagen.  The People’s Choice Award is kindly sponsored by renowned Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen.

During the competition, everyone can vote for their own personal INDEX: favorite to win the People’s Choice Award.

All finalists is on public view at the INDEX: Award Exhibition until September 13 at Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. You can also meet the finalists online.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award 2009 was announced at that  INDEX: Award Ceremony on August 28, along with the juried winners of INDEX:Award 2009.

In 2007 the winner of the People’s Choice Award was Danish designer Hân Pham. She won the prize for the design of Antivirus; a yellow plastic cap that turns beverage cans into a container for used needles. Read more about Antivirus.
